The Lone Star city is located in Morris County, Texas, USA. At the time of the 2010 census, the population was 1,581.

The city has a land area of 2.0 square miles, of which 2.0 square miles is land and 0.50 percent is water, according to the US Census Bureau.

The city had 1,631 residents, 665 households, and 468 families according to the 2000 census. The population size per square mile was 820.6.

The population of Lone Star city was diverse, with 27.2 percent under the age of 18, 8.3 percent between 18 and 24, 24.4 percent between 25 and 44, 24.3 percent between 45 and 64, and 15.7 percent over 65. The average age was 36 years old. There were 85.6 men for every 100 females. There were 83.2 men for every 100 females aged 18 and up.

The Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District serves the major community of Lone Star city. Hughes Springs ISD receives a minor percentage of the funds.
